Service Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: [9/20/2026]
These Service Terms & Conditions establish the general terms under which KJM Mechanical LLC provides mobile automotive, truck, trailer, equipment, fleet, and snow equipment services.
These terms are intended to help customers understand our service process, pricing, scheduling, authorization requirements, and responsibilities.
By requesting, scheduling, or authorizing services from KJM Mechanical LLC, the customer acknowledges that they have been provided with and agree to the applicable terms and conditions described below, together with the terms stated on the applicable estimate, work order, invoice, and warranty policy.
1. Services Provided
KJM Mechanical provides mobile mechanical services, including but not limited to:
Services offered may vary depending on the vehicle, equipment, location, required tools, parts availability, safety conditions, and whether the repair can reasonably be performed as a mobile service.
2. Mobile Service
KJM Mechanical operates primarily as a mobile repair service. Services may be performed at a customer's residence, business, job site, fleet location, or another approved service location.
The customer is responsible for providing a reasonably accessible and safe location where the requested work can be performed.
The customer is responsible for obtaining any required permission or authorization to have KJM Mechanical perform services at the requested location. This may include permission from property owners, landlords, employers, supervisors, fleet managers, property management companies, or other parties responsible for the premises. KJM Mechanical is not responsible for obtaining such permission on the customer’s behalf.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that KJM Mechanical is authorized to access the property and perform the requested work at the scheduled location. The customer is also responsible for any restrictions, fees, permits, or other requirements imposed by the property owner or site management.
Certain repairs may require specialized equipment, facilities, lifting equipment, environmental controls, or other conditions that cannot reasonably be provided through mobile service. In these situations, KJM Mechanical may recommend that the vehicle or equipment be transported to an appropriate repair facility or location.
3. Service Area
Our primary service area extends approximately 30 miles from our service area base.
Service availability may vary based on:
Locations outside the normal service area may be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to additional travel charges.
4. Scheduling & Appointments
Appointments are scheduled based on technician availability and the estimated time required for the requested service.
A scheduled appointment represents a request for service and does not guarantee that a repair will be completed on the scheduled date.
Appointments may need to be rescheduled due to:
Customers will be notified as soon as reasonably possible when an appointment needs to be changed.
5. Estimates & Quotes
Estimates and quotes are based on the information provided by the customer and the condition of the vehicle or equipment as reasonably observable at the time the estimate is prepared. Estimates are not guaranteed final prices unless specifically stated otherwise.
The final cost of a repair may change if additional problems, damage, or conditions are discovered during diagnosis, disassembly, or repair. This may include, but is not limited to:
Rust, corrosion, and seized or broken fasteners may require additional labor, specialized procedures, replacement hardware, cutting, drilling, extraction, or other repair methods. These conditions can make a repair more time-consuming than originally estimated.
If additional work is required that will increase the cost beyond the amount authorized by the customer, KJM Mechanical will obtain additional authorization before proceeding, when required.
An estimate is provided as a good-faith projection of the expected cost based on the information available at the time. KJM Mechanical cannot guarantee that the actual cost will remain within the original estimate when unforeseen conditions are discovered.
6. Customer Authorization
No repair work will be performed beyond the scope authorized by the customer.
Authorization may be provided through an appropriate written, electronic, or verbal method.
When applicable, the customer will be informed of the estimated cost, applicable labor rate, and scope of work before authorization is obtained.
If additional repairs are discovered after work has begun, KJM Mechanical will seek additional authorization before proceeding when required.
Pennsylvania regulations require repair shops to obtain customer authorization before charging for repairs and additional authorization when repairs exceed the customer's specified dollar limit. The business will maintain appropriate records of required oral authorizations.
7. Diagnostic Services
Diagnostic services are intended to identify the source or likely cause of a reported problem.
Diagnostic fees are separate from repair charges unless otherwise stated in writing.
A diagnostic service does not guarantee that every underlying or related problem will be identified during the initial inspection.
Additional testing may be necessary to accurately identify a problem.
If a repair is recommended after diagnosis, the customer will be provided with the applicable information and cost before additional repairs are performed.
8. Labor Rates
Labor rates vary according to the type of vehicle, equipment, repair, and service being performed.
Applicable labor classifications may include:
The applicable labor rate will be communicated to the customer before authorization when required.
Current labor rates are available on our Labor Rates page and may also be stated on the applicable estimate or invoice.
9. Travel Time & Travel Charges
Travel time is based on the estimated round-trip driving time from our service area base to the customer's service location, as calculated using Maps App or a comparable mapping application.
Locations within 29 minutes round trip of our service area base are not subject to a travel-time charge.
Travel-time charges may apply to locations beyond the 29-minute service area. Applicable travel charges will be based on the estimated round-trip travel time.
Travel charges may also apply when additional travel is required due to circumstances outside the original scope of service. This may include, but is not limited to, a service location due to additional parts being required, retrieving parts or equipment, or returning to complete work that could not reasonably be completed during the original service visit.
The applicable travel charge will be communicated to the customer when applicable.
10. Emergency Snow Equipment Service
Emergency snow equipment repair rates apply only during active snow events.
Emergency snow service may be subject to a higher labor rate because of the urgency, increased demand, severe weather, and challenging working conditions associated with storm response.
An active snow event may include periods of active snowfall, freezing precipitation, or resulting hazardous conditions that create an immediate need for operational snow-removal equipment.
Emergency snow service remains subject to:
KJM Mechanical reserves the right to decline or postpone emergency snow service when conditions make travel or the requested repair unsafe or impractical.
11. Right to Refuse or Stop Service
KJM Mechanical reserves the right to decline, postpone, or stop work when conditions are considered unsafe, unreasonable, or unsuitable for the requested service.
Examples may include:
If work is stopped because of unsafe conditions, the customer may remain responsible for applicable diagnostic, travel, inspection, or other charges already incurred.
12. Parts
Parts supplied by KJM Mechanical may be new, used, reconditioned, rebuilt, remanufactured, or otherwise identified on the estimate or invoice.
Where applicable, customers will be informed of the condition or type of parts being supplied before authorization.
Pennsylvania regulations specifically require disclosure of whether parts supplied are new, used, reconditioned, or rebuilt and address a customer's rights regarding replaced parts.
Parts pricing may change due to supplier availability, market conditions, substitutions, or special-order requirements.
All parts supplied that are not new will be specifically documented on invoice.
13. Customer-Supplied Parts
KJM Mechanical may install customer-supplied parts at its discretion.
Customer-supplied parts are not warranted by KJM Mechanical for:
KJM Mechanical reserves the right to refuse installation of any customer-supplied part that is determined to be incorrect, defective, damaged, unsafe, or unsuitable for the intended application.
If a customer-supplied part fails or is found to be unsuitable, the customer is responsible for additional diagnostic, removal, replacement, and installation labor unless otherwise agreed in writing.
14. Parts Availability & Delays
Repair completion times may be affected by parts availability.
KJM Mechanical is not responsible for delays caused by:
When reasonably possible, customers will be informed of significant delays affecting their repair.
15. Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for:
Failure to provide accurate information or reasonable access may result in delays or additional charges.
16. Existing Damage & Pre-Existing Conditions
Vehicles and equipment may contain pre-existing damage, corrosion, wear, seized components, weakened materials, or other conditions that are not apparent before work begins.
KJM Mechanical will make reasonable efforts to identify significant existing conditions when discovered.
Pre-existing conditions and unrelated failures are not automatically included in the scope of the requested repair.
Additional repairs resulting from pre-existing conditions require customer authorization when applicable.
17. Corrosion, Seized Components & Broken Fasteners
Older vehicles, commercial vehicles, trailers, and equipment may contain rusted, corroded, seized, damaged, or weakened components.
Additional labor may be required when components cannot be removed or serviced using normal procedures.
If additional work is necessary, the customer will be informed and additional authorization will be obtained when required.
18. Preventative Maintenance
Preventative maintenance is intended to reduce the likelihood of future failures and maintain the vehicle or equipment according to its service requirements.
Preventative maintenance does not guarantee that a vehicle or piece of equipment will remain free from breakdowns or future repairs.
Maintenance recommendations may be based on manufacturer specifications, observed condition, mileage, operating hours, age, or service history.
19. Fleet & Commercial Customers
Fleet and commercial customers may receive customized service arrangements, maintenance schedules, pricing, payment terms, or service agreements.
Any terms that differ from these general Service Terms & Conditions must be established in writing.
Fleet customers remain responsible for authorizing repairs and paying for authorized services unless a separate written agreement provides otherwise.
20. Payment
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due upon completion of service.
Payment is due according to the terms stated on the applicable invoice or written agreement.
Accepted payment methods may include:
KJM Mechanical may require deposits or payment for special-order parts before ordering or installing those parts.
Commercial and fleet customers may be subject to separate payment terms.
21. Additional Charges
Customers may be responsible for additional charges associated with:
Applicable charges will be communicated to the customer when reasonably possible.
22. Cancellations & No-Shows
Customers are asked to provide reasonable notice when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment.
A cancellation or no-show may result in a charge when the technician has already traveled to the service location, purchased or prepared special-order parts, or otherwise incurred costs specifically for the scheduled service.
Emergency service cancellations may be subject to different terms due to the nature of emergency dispatches.
Any applicable cancellation charge will be communicated to the customer.
23. Vehicle or Equipment Storage
KJM Mechanical is primarily a mobile service provider and does not generally provide long-term vehicle or equipment storage.
If a vehicle or piece of equipment remains at a location controlled by KJM Mechanical, any applicable storage arrangements and charges will be communicated to the customer in advance when possible.
Any storage charges will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
24. Warranty
Warranty coverage is governed by our separate Warranty Policy.
The Warranty Policy establishes the applicable labor warranty periods, parts warranty information, exclusions, warranty claim procedures, customer-supplied parts provisions, and other warranty conditions.
The warranty applies to eligible workmanship and repairs as specifically described in the Warranty Policy and applicable invoice.
A warranty on a particular repair does not guarantee that the vehicle or equipment will not experience
other unrelated failures.
25. Warranty Repairs Performed by Others
Customers should contact KJM Mechanical before authorizing another repair facility to perform work related to a potential warranty claim.
KJM Mechanical should be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and evaluate a potential warranty issue before another party performs corrective work, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety or to prevent additional damage.
Unauthorized third-party repairs may affect warranty coverage to the extent permitted by applicable law.
26. Customer-Requested Repairs
Customers may request a specific repair based on their own diagnosis or recommendation from another party.
KJM Mechanical may recommend diagnostic testing when appropriate.
Performing a customer-requested repair does not necessarily mean that KJM Mechanical has diagnosed the requested component as the cause of the reported problem.
The customer will be informed when additional diagnostic work is recommended.
27. Vehicle & Equipment Condition
KJM Mechanical is not responsible for unrelated failures that occur during or after service when those failures are caused by pre-existing conditions, normal wear, corrosion, improper operation, or unrelated components.
Special care will be taken when working on older, heavily used, corroded, modified, or damaged vehicles and equipment.
When a condition presents a significant safety concern, KJM Mechanical may recommend that the vehicle or equipment not be operated until the condition is addressed.
28. Emergency Snow Equipment and Severe-Condition Repairs
Emergency Snow Equipment repairs, particularly during severe weather or active snow events, may involve conditions that are substantially different from normal scheduled service.
Customers understand that emergency service may involve:
KJM Mechanical will make reasonable efforts to perform emergency repairs safely but reserves the right to decline or stop service when conditions are unsafe.
29. Estimates, Records & Invoices
Customers will receive applicable service documentation, which may include:
Pennsylvania regulations require repair shops to maintain specified records for oral authorizations and provide customers with a dated written invoice containing required information at completion of applicable repair or maintenance work.
30. Changes to the Scope of Work
During the course of a repair, KJM Mechanical may discover additional work that was not included in the original estimate or authorization. This may occur due to hidden damage, rust or corrosion, broken or seized components, or other conditions discovered during diagnosis or disassembly.
Additional work will not be performed without the required authorization.
Customers may decline recommended additional work.
If the customer declines additional work that KJM Mechanical determines is necessary to safely or properly complete the originally requested repair, KJM Mechanical may be unable to complete the repair and may stop work at that point. The vehicle or equipment will be returned to the customer in its existing condition to the extent reasonably possible, and the circumstances will be documented.
The customer remains responsible for charges incurred for diagnostic work, labor performed, parts installed or ordered, and other authorized services or expenses incurred up to the point work is stopped.
KJM Mechanical will not be responsible for additional issues, damage, or consequences that result from the customer declining recommended or necessary additional work, provided that the customer was informed of the issue and the recommendation was documented.
31. Safety
The safety of our technicians, customers, and the public is a priority.
KJM Mechanical will not knowingly perform work in circumstances that present an unreasonable safety risk.
Customers are expected to disclose known hazards, including:
32. Website Information
Information displayed on this website, including service descriptions, pricing information, service areas, and general descriptions, is provided for informational purposes.
The specific terms, pricing, scope of work, and warranty applicable to a repair will be determined by the applicable estimate, authorization, work order, invoice, and warranty terms.
Service availability and pricing may change without notice.
33. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is governed by our separate Privacy Policy.
34. Disputes & Customer Concerns
We encourage customers to contact KJM Mechanical directly if they have a concern regarding a service, repair, invoice, or warranty claim.
We will make reasonable efforts to review and address legitimate concerns promptly.
Customers should retain copies of estimates, invoices, authorizations, warranties, and other service documentation.
Nothing in these Service Terms & Conditions is intended to waive, restrict, or eliminate rights or remedies provided to customers under applicable federal, state, or local law.
Pennsylvania's Office of Attorney General maintains a consumer-protection program and notes that consumers should first contact the business to attempt to resolve a service complaint.
35. Changes to These Terms
KJM Mechanical may update these Service Terms & Conditions as the business, services, pricing, or applicable requirements change.
The terms applicable to a particular repair will be those provided to or agreed upon by the customer at the time the service is authorized, subject to applicable law.
