Warranty Policy

1. Labor Warranty

Unless otherwise stated on the customer's invoice, labor performed by KJM Mechanical LLC is covered against defects in workmanship for the applicable warranty period listed below.

Automotive & Light-Duty Trucks - 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Heavy-Duty Trucks - 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Trailers - 12 months from the date of service.

Heavy Equipment - 6 months from the date of service.

Snow Equipment - 6 months from the date of service.

Emergency Snow Repair - 30 days from the date of service.

Labor for Customer Supplied Parts - 14 days from the date of service.

Specific repairs may carry a different warranty period when stated on the customer's invoice or estimate.

2. What the Labor Warranty Covers

The labor warranty covers defects directly resulting from workmanship performed by KJM Mechanical LLC.

When a covered warranty issue is confirmed, we will, at our discretion, inspect and correct the affected repair at no additional labor charge.

Warranty coverage applies only to the repair or service originally performed and does not extend to unrelated repairs, components, or subsequent failures.

3. Parts Warranty

Parts supplied and installed by KJM Mechanical LLC are subject to the manufacturer's or parts supplier's warranty, when applicable.

Parts warranties may vary by manufacturer, part, application, and intended use. Where a manufacturer or supplier provides a parts warranty, we will assist the customer with the warranty process when reasonably possible.

The parts manufacturer's warranty does not automatically guarantee the labor required to replace a failed part. Labor coverage will be determined according to the terms of our labor warranty and the circumstances of the failure.

4. Customer-Supplied Parts

We may install customer-supplied parts at our discretion.

Customer-supplied parts are not warranted by KJM Mechanical LLC for defects, premature failure, incorrect application, or manufacturer-related issues.

If a customer-supplied part fails, the customer is responsible for the cost of diagnosis, removal, replacement, and any additional labor required unless otherwise agreed in writing.

We reserve the right to refuse installation of a customer-supplied part if we determine that the part is incorrect, defective, damaged, unsafe, or unsuitable for the intended application.

5. Warranty Exclusions

Warranty coverage does not apply to failures or damage caused by:

  • Abuse, misuse, or neglect
  • Accidents or collisions
  • Overloading or exceeding the manufacturer's rated capacity
  • Improper operation
  • Continued operation after a known problem develops
  • Lack of required maintenance
  • Modifications or alterations made after the original repair
  • Repairs or modifications performed by another person or business
  • Damage caused by unrelated components or systems
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Corrosion, rust, or environmental damage
  • Contamination of fluids or fuel
  • Improper fluids, fuel, lubricants, or additives
  • Electrical problems caused by external equipment or wiring
  • Damage resulting from towing, hauling, plowing, or other commercial use beyond the equipment's intended application
  • Failures caused by a component that was not part of the original repair
  • Pre-existing conditions not related to the original repair
  • Consequential damage resulting from continued operation after a failure occurs

This list is not intended to limit any rights or protections provided by applicable law.

6. Diagnostic Services

Diagnostic services are intended to identify the source or likely cause of a reported problem.

A diagnostic service does not guarantee that every underlying or related problem will be identified during the initial inspection.

Diagnostic labor is not automatically covered under a repair warranty unless specifically stated on the invoice or estimate.

If additional problems are discovered during diagnosis, the customer will be informed before additional repairs are performed, subject to applicable authorization requirements.

7. Preventative Maintenance

Preventative maintenance services are intended to reduce the likelihood of future failures but cannot guarantee that a vehicle or piece of equipment will remain free from breakdowns.

Maintenance services are warranted only for the workmanship associated with the service performed.

The warranty does not cover subsequent failures caused by worn, damaged, defective, or unrelated components that were not included in the original service.

8. Wear Items and Maintenance Items

Items subject to normal wear or routine replacement may have limited or no warranty coverage depending on the service performed.

Examples may include:

  • Brake pads and shoes
  • Brake rotors
  • Belts
  • Hoses
  • Wiper blades
  • Bulbs
  • Fuses
  • Filters
  • Batteries
  • Clutches
  • Tires
  • Blades
  • Plow cutting edges
  • Spreader components
  • Other consumable or wear-related components

Any applicable warranty will be identified on the invoice when appropriate.

9. Heavy Equipment & Commercial Equipment

Heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, and other commercial machinery operate under varying conditions and workloads.

Warranty coverage applies to the workmanship of the specific repair performed and does not guarantee the overall condition or future performance of the equipment.

Warranty coverage may be limited or denied when failure results from excessive use, overloading, improper operation, abuse, lack of maintenance, environmental conditions, or failure of another component.

10. Snow Equipment & Emergency Snow Repair

Snow-removal equipment frequently operates under severe weather conditions and demanding workloads.

Warranty coverage applies to the workmanship of the repair performed but does not cover failures caused by continued operation, excessive workload, impact, packed snow or ice, corrosion, electrical overload, improper operation, abuse, or failure of unrelated components.

Emergency snow repairs performed during active snow events are subject to the Emergency Snow Repair warranty period stated above.

Because emergency repairs are often performed under severe weather conditions and time-sensitive circumstances, additional failures may occur after the original repair due to conditions unrelated to the workmanship performed.

11. Warranty Claim Procedure

If you believe a repair covered by our warranty has failed, contact KJM Mechanical LLC as soon as the problem is discovered.

Customers should provide:

  • Name and contact information
  • Invoice or work order number, if available
  • Vehicle or equipment information
  • Description of the problem
  • Approximate date the problem occurred

Customers should discontinue operation when continued operation could reasonably cause additional damage or create a safety hazard.

We may require an inspection or diagnosis before determining whether a warranty claim is covered.

12. Warranty Repairs

When a warranty claim is determined to be covered, KJM Mechanical LLC will determine the appropriate method of correcting the covered issue.

Depending on the circumstances, the remedy may include:

  • Repairing the original workmanship
  • Replacing a defective part when covered by the applicable parts warranty
  • Re-performing the affected labor
  • Other reasonable corrective action

Warranty repairs must be authorized by KJM Mechanical LLC before work is performed.

Customers should not authorize another repair facility to perform warranty repairs without first contacting us. Unauthorized repairs may not be eligible for reimbursement.

13. Warranty Service Location

Because we operate as a mobile mechanic service, warranty inspections and repairs will generally be performed at a location determined by KJM Mechanical LLC, based on the nature of the repair, vehicle or equipment condition, safety considerations, and technician availability.

If a vehicle or piece of equipment is unsafe or inoperable, the customer may be responsible for transportation, towing, or other costs unless otherwise agreed upon or required by applicable law.

14. Commercial & Fleet Customers

Fleet and commercial customers remain subject to the same applicable warranty terms unless a separate written agreement provides otherwise.

Fleet customers may have customized maintenance schedules, service agreements, or warranty terms established in writing.

Any special warranty terms must be agreed upon in writing before the applicable work is performed.

15. Warranty Transfer

KJM Mechanical warranties are provided to the original customer and are not transferable to a subsequent owner of the vehicle or equipment.

If the vehicle or equipment is sold, transferred, or otherwise changes ownership during the applicable warranty period, any remaining KJM Mechanical labor warranty will terminate upon the change of ownership unless otherwise agreed to in writing by KJM Mechanical.

Any separate warranty provided by a parts manufacturer or supplier is subject to that manufacturer's or supplier's own warranty terms and transferability requirements. KJM Mechanical does not guarantee that a manufacturer's or supplier's warranty is transferable to a subsequent owner.

16. Warranty Period

The applicable warranty period begins on the date the original repair or service is completed.

For mileage-based warranties, the applicable mileage begins with the odometer reading recorded at the time of service.

Warranty coverage expires when the applicable time period or mileage limit is reached, whichever occurs first.

17. No Guarantee of Future Repairs

A warranty on a specific repair does not constitute a guarantee that the vehicle, trailer, equipment, or other machinery will not experience additional problems.

Vehicles and equipment contain numerous independent systems and components. A warranty applies only to the specific repair or service covered by the applicable warranty.

18. Changes to Warranty Terms

Warranty terms applicable to a specific repair will be identified on the customer's estimate, invoice, or other written service documentation.

If a repair has warranty terms that differ from this general policy, the specific written terms provided for that repair will apply to the extent permitted by law.

19. Customer Rights

Nothing in this warranty policy is intended to waive, restrict, or eliminate any rights or remedies provided to the customer under applicable federal, state, or local law.

Where applicable law provides greater protection than the terms of this warranty, the applicable law will control.

Our Goal

Our goal is to stand behind our workmanship, address legitimate warranty concerns promptly, and maintain an honest and professional relationship with every customer.

If you have a concern about a repair or service we performed, please contact us as soon as possible so we can evaluate the issue and determine the appropriate next step.

Thank You,

KJM Mechanical
